We will premier a Taos County-wide Studio Tour in 2008.
All Visual Artists who live in Taos County are eligible to participate.

Schedule

June 1, 2008 - All Production Materials Must be Submitted
July 1, 2008 - Billboards and sign announcing Tour go up
August 1, 2008 - Catalogues and Pocket Maps Printed
September 1, 2008 Invitational Postcards sent out
September 19, 2008 - Placement of Newspaper Ads
September 25, 2008 - Artists drop off work 9 AM – 1 PM

Artists drop off work Kachina Lodge - Set up of show, steering committee
September 26, 2008 - Preview show and reception 6 – 8 PM
September 27, 2008 - Meet More Artists at Kachina 6 PM – 8 PM
September 27 & 28, 2008 - 1st Weekend Tour 10 AM – 5 PM
September 29 thru October 3, 2008 - Studios Open by Appointment
October 3, 2008, 6pm to 8pm - Preview of Participating Artists’ Work:

Preview of Participating Artists’ Work at Kachina Lodge Gallery. Preview Show will be hanging throughout the Tour.
For sales from the Preview Show, Artists set minimum price - 70% goes to the Artist - 30% goes to promote the tour and
pay Artists for conducting Art Programs in Taos County Schools.
Sales at artists’ studios are non-commission except where agreement exists with artist’s gallery.
October 4 thru 5, 2008, 10am to 5pm Daily: Continue Preview Show

October 4 & 5, 2008 - 2nd Weekend Tour 10 AM – 5 PM

Meet Taos Artists in their studios - one on one
October 4, 2008, 7pm to 9:30 pm: Meet More Artists Party

Socialize with Taos' Finest Visual Artists - at the Kachina Lodge
October 4 & 5, 2008 2nd Weekend Tour 10 AM – 5 PM
October 5, 2008 , 3pm to 6pm Pick up Purchased Art

Customers pick up purchased art work at Kachina Lodge
October 6, 2008, 9am to Noon Artists pick up work and ship to buyers

Artists pick up work 9 AM – 1 PM

Outlying area artists will share space with other artists or at other available locations within the map area such as restaurants,
B&Bs, Galleries, Businesses, etc. ART EVERYWHERE!
Maps and brochures will be provided to each participating artist, and to all New Mexico Visitors Centers and locations
throughout Taos County and beyond. Promotion committee will extend invitations globally via email, and work to promote
Taos as a World Class destination.

Commitment

Your commitment as a TAO Tour Participant Member: To insure a successful event, you submit a membership
application, participate on a committee of your choice, pay an investment fee of $100, and personally show your work.
This commitment entitles you to be on the tour and covers marketing expenses such as printing our Catalogue and renting
Preview Space.

In our formative years TAO will be sponsored under the umbrella of Touchstone Foundation, Inc.,
Stepping Stones to Creative Learning, an educational 501C-3 dedicated to creative education,
support of artists, cultural exchange Globally and specifically in Taos County.

base of Taos. The Taos Visual Art Center, our near future goal, encompasses unique Exhibitions, Educational Programs,
Workshops, Classes, Studio Spaces, Private Sponsorships, Professional Assistance and many Volunteer Services to uphold
our Vibrant Artistic Environment.
