Born in 1974 in North Carolina, father has career in the Marine Corps, moves family around until 12, Ohio,
Virginia, California, Hawaii, settles family in small town in Tennessee, high school and all the monotony of
small town life in the south, studies flute and thinks about being a musician, one disastrous year at the
University of Memphis culminates in a night on a roof top and laughing stars and a smiling dawn and a
falling out with his family, gives a roadside bum five dollars and consequently gets into a car accident,
enters the army for four years as a mechanic to pay those bills, a miserable time but the kinks get worked
out, father dies, makes decision to become an artist, strange woman tracks him down and later becomes
his wife, marries in Vegas footsore and joyous, son is born in Oklahoma, wife stays in army and family
moves to Fairbanks, Alaska, five years there completing school, family separates briefly to finish school,
comes away with BFA in painting and an abiding passion for landscape, moves back down to Colorado
for happy reunion, wife deploys to Iraq, she escapes hell and moves family to Oahu where he resides four
years. Wife redeploys to Iraq, escapes hell again, and settles family in Taos, New Mexico. Has been
painting for ten years now. His work is deeply tied to landscape, family and the vagaries of people’s lives. |
