Jean Nichols was born and raised in New England and attended Goddard College in Vermont.
She left school in 1965 to travel throughout North and Central America, taking photographs and
doing other freelance work. In 1968 she came through northern New Mexico and immediately fell in
love with the land and the people. In 1969 she settled in Llano NM and put down long-term roots.
