Kelly’s canvases are animated by an ability to create compositions that take on a life of their own. They ask for study, as the viewer shifts perception to interpret the sinuous line and color as subjects ranging from a meadow to a procession of true believers, to perhaps something else again. "The real subject of any kind of work is simply the intersection of people and the world.
