Barbara  Brock

For ten consecutive years Barbara Brock has won awards for her work in both pastels and printmaking. Her images often depict the New Mexico landscape capturing the unique atmospheric play between sky, mountains, and mesas. The painterly use of materials in her pieces gives them a rich, expressive texture. It is clear to the viewer that she loves the natural world. Barbara spent her childhood in Indiana and Wisconsin. She studied fine art at the University of Wisconsin, graphic design at Madison Area Technical College, Madison, Wisconsin and printmaking at the University of New Mexico-Taos. Taos has been her home since 1981. “I feel grateful to live and work in Northern New Mexico which has provided me with a never ending source of visual stimuli and artistic possibilities.”
